Pet Strollers: Here to Stay
Posted on July 28th, 2010 by admin
In 2003 DoggyRide was one of the first dog strollers to hit the market, starting in the Netherlands. Although it did not reach the United States until 2006 these models created a trend among numerous manufacturers to start making these products. These strollers for dogs are in the same type of designs as the stroller you would pull your children in behind your bicycle. In fact, DoggyRide actually offers a more stable ride as it has a flat floor option to keep the animal off of the axle.
DoggyRide’s original model was pretty large and only intended for the use of larger breed dogs. The mini dog stroller, for small breed dogs, was not available until 2007 along with the company’s luxury model. After the strollers test success in Europe the products were finally released to be sold and produced in the United States. Luckily the sales did well in both Europe and the States because now we are able to purchase these strollers for all of our pooches. Pampering your dog was not the intended use of these strollers when they were invented though. They were invented for pet owners who like to take their dogs along on walks, hikes and rides.
There are some height requirements you should check out before purchasing your new dog stroller. The DoggyRide mini stroller is intended for small breed dogs not exceeding in height of 15 inches up to their shoulders. The original DoggyRide can fit almost any medium to larger breed of dog. The luxury doggy stroller can fit a wide variety of breeds as it is a larger and versatile dog stroller.
The DoggyRide was the first and original so don’t be fooled and disappointed by the knock off doggy strollers today.
