Where to look for valid discount and coupon codes in UK?

Posted on May 7th, 2010 by admin

I recently moved to UK and started shopping locally for stuff. All my good saving habits (printable vouchers, coupons, amazon codes) were rendered useless with these European retailers. Is there any place I can get promotions and deals that work? I had enough of this "click to reveal offer/code" which opens another page to the online store without an actual discount code or deal listed.

Hi,
First of all you might want to know about the "click to reveal" practice – it is considered unethical in UK (according to the Internet Advertising Bureau) and coupon websites should not use it. You can find more on http://www.iabuk.net.
Now, about the deals, coupons and discount codes – in UK and Europe in general the system is not as popular as in US, mainly because of national segmentation of the markets. More even, the same chain selling in 10-12 countries might have different margins and different VAT (think sales tax) making promotions even more difficult. Some online stores are exclusive for UK (like Blue Inc., House of Fraser and most of M&S). You can get coupon codes for them on UK coupon websites (see links), by registering for their newsletters or on forums. Reward sites like Pigsback are also a good resource. Another way to get a coupon code for a specific chain/brand is to register with a voucher site like www.dtcdeals.com and ASK – it might not be listed because nobody showed interest, but you can suggest a deal or look for advice. I added an example of how difficult it is to use a generic coupon site – one that does not screen and validate offers before publishing. Important information (like free UK delivery except the Channel Islands for example) is often missing from "automated" voucher sites, as is support if you need to contact the retailer for a misrepresented promotion.

What are amazon promotional discount codes and how to use that?

Posted on May 5th, 2010 by admin

I don’t do online shopping very often, and heard my friend told me something about promotional discount codes. I don’t know how to use that and how to find those codes. Anyone can explain it to me ?

Amazon promotional discount codes, also called amazon promotional claim codes, are some coupon codes that you can use to redeem some money or get some discount when you check out from Amazon.com. It looks like several Digital and number’s combination.

When you get a coupon code, you need to check its expiration date first and qualified conditions, some may require you do purchase some specific amount of money from amazon.com, others may require you to choose some specific products. When you meet all conditions, you can input the promo codes into promotional codes text-box of check out page, and click apply button to make it valid for your order.

You can get amazon promotional claim codes from some famous amazon coupon sites such like http://www.tophtodeal.com or www.retailmenot.com.

It seems that during a recession is the hardest time for the average person to save money and put it towards more productive tasks. Stocks are dropping, wages are dropping and retirement funds are slowly disapearing. So what can you do to save a little extra cash that can go towards paying off your debt? There are literally hundreds of different ’small things’ you can do to save money in your every day life.

Use Your Local Technical Colleges/Schools
If there is a technical college in your area, or a school that tailors to a specific profession, use them! Many automotive repair classrooms at your local college are more than happy to repair your damaged car in class for little or no cost, they are just happy to provide a real world experience for their students. For the women, if there is a cosmetology school in your area go there for your manicure’s, pedicures and facials at relatively no cost.

Do Your Shopping Online and Buying Used
While shopping online for your groceries may not be as lucrative as their marketing campaigns may lead you to believe, there are many other goods that are available used for free or cheap online. Take a look in the ‘new and used’ section of amazon, or scour your local area’s craigslist for any items you may need. You can save a bundle of money every month, just by looking through what is available used, rather than heading out to your local Sears to pick up that item you’ve just got to have.

Combine Your Communications Bills
Take a look at the deals your local service provider is offering for your different communication devices in bundle packages. Many companies, such as Comcast, offer internet, phone, and TV at a highly discounted rate when you order all three through them. I literally cut my communications bills in half just by deciding to go with one company for all my needs.

Only Subscribe to the Sunday Paper
In a world with TV and internet there really isn’t too much of a reason to pay to have the paper delivered to your house every day. Any information that would have been in that paper is more than likely free on their website, or will appear on the evening news. You can still be informed without paying a bundle.

Take Your Lunch To Work
If it will keep you from spending money everyday on food, take your lunch to work. The next time you take a look at your bank statements, go ahead and highlight every time you bought food in the last month, and then take a look at all the food you have sitting in your cupboards and your fridge. You could reduce your monthly food costs by a lot by just bringing your lunch with you to the workplace and not tempting yourself to spend more money on food.

How do discount codes and vouchers from online websites work?

Posted on May 5th, 2010 by admin

I just saw a couple of sites offering discount vouchers or codes which can be used for shopping/hotels etc.

They are available free…so how does this work then? Does it work online? When do they ask for the code?

You just grab a code from http://www.voucherkid.com enter it at checkout and that is it
